Promoter Barry Hearn has moved a step closer to becoming the chief of World Snooker following the departure of chairman Sir Rodney Walker this week. Reports BBC Sports News

Hearn and veteran Steve Davis were co-opted onto the World Professional Billiards and Snooker Association board after Walker was voted out at the AGM.
