The PGA resoluted that the 37th Ryder Cup would take place at the Valhalla Golf Club in Louisville, Kentucky from the 19th – 21st September 2009.

Samuel Ryder a very triumphant Seed Merchant from Manchester founded the Ryder Cup.
He took up golf as a capital of entertainment after working so tough and took pleasure in it so much he practiced each day, rain or shine excluding Sundays.

By the 1950s he had a six handicap and turned out to be Captain of the Verulam Golf Club in St Albans.
In 1926 he was observing the unauthorized contest between the Americans and British and got pleasure from it so much that he recommended they had a customary play-offs between the two states and make it authorized with a concrete Gold Cup which he contributed.

£3000 was required to finance the British band; just £2500 was increased so Ryder himself made up the insufficiency.
The opening play-offs were played in 1927 at the Worcester Country Club.
